The saloon-bodied Golf has always been called Jetta in the US, and it originally had this name in the UK and Europe, too, until the (Mk4) Bora. Volkswagen has reverted to the Jetta name all-round so the car has the same name both sides of the Atlantic - though it will continue to be called "Bora" in China and in other countries where versions of the old Jetta continue in production.
