No volume car manufacturer can seriously expect to compete in the UK without a strong line-up of diesel engines. So after a historically slow start-up on the diesel scene, Toyota has introduced an all-new 148bhp 2.2-litre D-4D diesel engine for the Avensis to supplement the existing 114bhp oil burner.
