Subaru is best-known for its WRC-winning Impreza rally car, and its be-spoilered road-going counterparts, but the Legacy represents the other face of the brand.
Under the surface, a new exhaust system is more efficient and quieter, extra strengthening has improved body rigidity, and the use of aluminium components in the suspension and an aluminium bonnet, plus lighter-weight steel panels, have contributed to a 55kg weight saving in most models. Suspension has been strengthened, too.
