Nissan's likeable X-Trail was first introduced in 2001, so the mid-life facelifted model you see here didn't take long to come around.
Clean trousers : The front and rear doors have a simple but rather clever feature. The door-skin protrudes down past the door sill rather than closing above it, so that when you've been off-roading, the door gets filthy, rather than the sill itself. So then, when you open the door, the dirty bit swings away from you and the sill by your feet is clean. No more back-of-the-trouser filth on egress, see?
