Gold star for safety; the Grande Punto has achieved an excellent five-star score for crash protection in the Euro NCAP crash tests, equalling that of the new Renault Clio, Modus and Peugeot 1007, the only other small cars so far to do so. It also out-scores both of those for pedestrian protection, too, gaining a three-star result thanks to its front end design, though its three-star score for child protection is a little behind the Clio and Modus' four. It comes with up to seven airbags, ABS with EBD and optional traction control and stability control, too.
