Chery A3 hybrid : This combines a 1.3-litre diesel engine with integrated starter-generator technology and a stop-start system to turn the engine off when idling. It's a so-called mild hybrid, not able to run in electric-only mode, but the extra assistance given by the electric motor allows for fuel consumption of up to a claimed 94.2mpg when equipped with the optional CVT transmission.
