The fibre glass MX-5-lookalike Aquada, developed in Warwickshire, is by far the quickest amphibious car around: 100mph on land and 30mph in the water, and it launches in little more than 10 seconds. It costs around £75,000, but it's the most effective solution for, say, commuting up the Thames to the City (people do), or travelling around one's private island.
