33 LTI London Taxi (page 8 of 25)

London Taxis International's products, built in Coventry, are the definitive purpose-built cabs. They're not always black any more, but are a clearly identifiable presence on the capital's streets. There's an obvious design lineage stretching from the early post-war FX-series models, through the Nissan diesel-engined Fairways (1989-97) to the current TX4 - more comfortable, cleaner-running and more accessible to wheelchair users than its predecessors, yet still able to turn around in the tightest of spaces and swallow up huge suitcases. All the LTI cabs have been long-lived, running to huge mileages. Shame they still can't make their drivers go south of the river, though.
