36 Jensen Interceptor (page 11 of 25)

A brilliant combination of American power and Italian styling, this well equipped GT with quirky glass hatchback once cost more than an Aston and was twice the price of an E-Type. It ran from 1966 to 1976, using 6.3- and 7.2-litre Chrysler V8s that were generally tough (and super-thirsty) but the rest of the rust-prone car was less reliable. Still, it looked fantastic, and the FF model, with its early anti-lock braking system and four-wheel drive, was a true innovator. A TV star, too, in both Jason King and The Saint. Attempts to revive the Interceptor didn't come to much, though: it was very much a car of its time.
