8 Chesil Speedster (page 8 of 25)
|
The UK is home to a huge number of replica and kit-car manufacturers, and Dorset-based Chesil was one of the best. Its Speedster is a fibre glass Porsche 356 replica, built from original VW Beetle parts; the 356 was developed by Ferry Porsche, creator of the Beetle. Choose from replica air-cooled engines built from the original blueprints or modern-day VW units, all rear-mounted. Classic motoring in a more usable package, and though hardly cut-price a good bit cheaper than the real thing. Chesil was taken over by specialist sports car company Tygan.
