One of the most intoxicating, thrilling driving experiences at any price - and with prices starting at £15,450 the Seven has to be one of the world's great performance bargains. Plenty of heritage, too: derived from Colin Chapman's classic Lotus Seven, it's been progressively updated over the past 30 years without losing any of its inherent ability as a racer, a driver-focused road car or simply a track-day toy, and there's now a wide range of engine options to choose from - none exactly slow. Caterham has guarded the Seven legend closely since 1973 and shows no sign of sacrificing the original ideals for more mainstream success.
