16 Land Rover Range Rover (page 16 of 25)

The basic Land Rover product was a tough working vehicle, but the company anticipated parallel demand for a more comfortable 4x4. The luxury-spec Range Rover that made its debut in 1970 to much acclaim was right first time: as comfy as the huge US station wagons but still an accomplished off-roader, it defined its genre. Its Japanese rivals - Nissan Patrol, Toyota Land Cruiser - may have been more reliable, but the Solihull-built Range Rover has always been the most prestigious choice. Its reliability much improved by BMW and now Ford, the Range Rover is a hugely impressive all-rounder and immensely desirable.
