The Alfa GT (surely the shortest Alfa Romeo model name in history), is a proper four-seater and can even swallow five at a squeeze. It is also a hatchback with foldable rear seats, and that fact alone gives it an advantage over the BMW 3-Series Coupe that is its head-on rival.
The hatch is back : Rivals from BMW (3-series) and Mercedes-Benz (CLK) have conventional bootlids, but the GT's tail conceals a hatchback even though the profile and shutlines suggest otherwise. The rear seats fold down too. The C-class Sports Coupe also has a hatchback, of course, but there's no V6 version. Alfa Romeo might have uncovered its own micro-niche here.
