| Volkswagen believes the new GTI could trigger the rebirth of white as a desirable colour. The GTI's graphic elements help white to work well, and there's the historical connection white was popular for Mk 1 and Mk2 GTIs. The colour went out of fashion in the 1990s when cars became rounder and blobbier and white masked their curves. Today's edgier designs might help a comeback. Or not. |
