| GS430 versions have a pre-crash sensing system which uses radar sensors to detect if a collision is likely, and tightens up the seatbelts and primes the brakes for an emergency stop (optional, in conjunction with adaptive cruise control, in the GS300 SE-L). The S430 also features VDIM (Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management) which co-ordinates the traction control, ABS, stability control, electric power steering and all the drive-by-wire functions (throttle, brakes), and variable steering ratios, similar to BMW's Active Steering, as well as electronic brakes, similar to Mercedes' SBC system. |
