One of the options I chose when speccing the car was the soft luggage cover for the boot, which mostly works well. However, unclipping the cover because of awkward sized bags - which is required almost every time I load up - is a bit of a chore. The clips, themselves quite sharp, are also slowly scratching into the soft plastic: a year of this and the wear and tear will be very noticeable.

One other small drawback to the car is a certain lack of space in the front of the cabin, which seems to suggest that the car is aimed at women drivers.

Why do I think that? Partly because my boyfriend, who owns a fairly large pair of hands, has difficulty changing gear. The problem is that his long fingers seem to hit the Climate Control setting every time he changes cogs, so we go from a perfect ambient temperate to being blasted with extreme temperatures. Which is very inconvenient.

Then again, the C30 can't be too girlie: the driver of a Focus ST approached my boyfriend in a petrol station the other day and asked if he wanted to swap cars. Orange just isn't my colour, though.
