The Christmas mayhem is over for another year and, thanks to the C30, the festive season, with all its attendant travelling, passed relatively painlessly.
The Volvo did a fine job of charging all over the country, packed with large and awkward presents, on the way to relations to which the same attributes could also apply.
The car provided a haven of calm while the stresses of Christmas swirled around outside. I was certainly thankful for its warmth and comfort, even when stuck in a solid, slow-moving procession of traffic for over five hours between Devon and Sussex.
Everything functions exactly as it did when it arrived - perhaps even better. With 3,841 miles on the clock, the engine has loosened up nicely and, as the power goes down when accelerating, the noise is even more sonorous. In fact, it's quite hard to tell what speed you're doing, thanks to almost no road noise and the smooth driving experience.
