While pondering the possibility that, like all red-blooded males (it is a he; I saw him fiddling around in the boot the other day), the owner wanted to be just like me, it did occur to me that perhaps his choice was motivated by the fact that this particular shade of metallic grey is so easy on the eye.

Its greatest attribute, however, is undoubtedly an ability to mask even the extreme levels of dirt generated when wet winter roads and the chronically sponge-shy overlap. If you're listening, nice people at Honda, I live in a second-floor flat. And the hose won't reach. And there's a hole in my bucket. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it...

Talking of sticking, I had a call the other day from the aforementioned 'nice people' about my Civic's recalcitrant fuel filler cap. It transpired that there's a dealer fix available for this, so I booked myself into Shoreham Honda, just a 10-minute drive from my house... sorry, flat.
