All good things comes to an end, they say, and so it was with much sadness that we climbed into our Mountune'd Fiesta for one final blast into the sunset.
We should have gone looking for some nice twisty B-roads to remind us, even a year on, why the Fiesta has class-leading handling. We should have chosen the right sort of tarmac to really take advantage of its strong levels of grip, impeccable body control and unbeatable agility while stretching our car's tuned 1.6-litre that seems happiest as it approached its 7,000rpm redline.
We should have picked a route that allowed that noise, the glorious noise, to assault our eardrums: maybe a run punctuated by plenty of tunnels to fully appreciate the rally-car soundtrack.
So where did we spend our last motoring moments with the Ford? On the three lanes of tedious motorway.
