Bloodhound SSC
Going to Goodwood? Here's a selection of must-see cars for enthusiasts making the trip down to the famous West Sussex festival.
1,050mph Bloodhound SSC
Andy Green, the current land speed record holder, will be driving up the hill in a Vauxhall VXR on Saturday and Sunday at around 9am, but if that doesn't float your boat check out the 42ft Bloodhound SSC, the new Richard Noble-designed LSR challenger, boasting a 1,050mph top speed.
Alfa Romeo 8C Spider
Frank Williams
Part of Goodwood's celebrations includes a tribute to one of the stalwarts of Formula One racing - Sir Frank Williams - who marks 40 years of involvement in Grand Prix racing this year.
Throughout the Festival weekend a number of significant Williams Grand Prix cars and ex-team drivers will be present, culminating on Sunday with a gathering of all of the cars and drivers in the Goodwood F1 Paddock Assembly Area as tribute to Frank. Also in attendance will be a number of former Williams team drivers, including Damon Hill, Alan Jones, David Coulthard and Jacques Laffite.
Alfa Romeo
Alfistas will be able to see the awesome-looking 8C Spider take to the hill and it will be the first time the production car has seen on the move in Britain. It will be joined on the hill by iconic motor racing cars from Alfa Romeo's historic museum collection in Arese, Italy.
These include the 1924 P2 Gran Premio which won the first World Championship in 1925 driven by Gastone Brilli-Peri; the 8C 2300 tipo Le Mans which was purchased by Sir Henry Birkin in 1931; the 6C 3000 CM driven to second place by Juan Manuel Fangio in the 1953 Mille Miglia and the 33 TT 12 which brought the 1975 World Manufacturer's title to Alfa Romeo.
