A new spiced-up variant of the Peugeot 308 is coming: the 308 GT THP 175.
The GT has the turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol engine (175bhp) as in the 207 GTi and the Mini Cooper S. It features a six-speed manual gearbox with a torque output of up to 195 lb ft and promises a top speed of 140mph and 0-60mph time of 8.3 seconds. Fuel consumption is 37.1mpg and carbon dioxide output 180 g/km.
Cosmetic touches to the GT include a different front bumper, a rear spoiler, a unique steering wheel, an aluminium gear knob and aluminium pedals, plus a lowered ride height. Sales start in April and prices will be announced nearer launch.
