1. Audi R8 V12 TDI
We love the R8. It's a superb car to drive and one of the few instances in life where you can believe the hype.
And now Audi has raised the bar again and rolled out an R8 with a V12 diesel engine closely related to the one used in its Le Mans-conquering racer.
The R8 V12 TDI is officially a concept, but the urge to be the first carmaker to build a diesel supercar is surely too great for Audi to resist.
2. Land Rover LRX
Land Rover has cleverly responded to being public enemy number one - a manufacturer of SUVs - by designing a car that is a diesel hybrid urban runabout.
But the LRX concept - which Land Rover insists will be largely unchanged if it goes intro production - is still recognisably a Land Rover and is pitched perfectly at customers who might just give up their Rangeys if they can replace them with something of equal quality.
