Volvo already offers an R-Design makeover for the C30, S40 and V50, and it's now available to sport up the XC90.
As with the earlier Sport pack option, you get uprated suspension, blue-lit instrument dials, matt silk-finish interior trim details and brushed stainless-steel sill mouldings. New items include 19-inch alloy wheels (20-inch rims a further option), dual exhaust pipes, an underbody skid plate, R-Design badge on the grille, and silk-matt rear-view mirror trim. The roof rails are deleted for a sportier look, but can be re-specified as an option.
The extra-bolstered sports seats are upholstered in off-black Flex-Tec fabric to the sides with the cushions and backrests in cream leather, and R-Design logos on the backrests. The logo also appears on the leather steering wheel, and there are special aluminium pedals, aluminium-trimmed central instrument stack, door inlays and gear selector, plus leather-edged floor mats. UK prices will be announced shortly.
The R-Design package continues with the C30, S40 and V50, bringing colour-coordinated body kit, rear roof spoiler, silver matt-finish front grille and wing mirrors, five-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels (Sport) or 18-inch alloy wheels (SE Sport), black/cream upholstery and R-Design logos.
