Reviving a classic Buick name used on luxury-spec coupes from 1943-99, the Chinese-developed Riviera was first seen at the Shanghai Motor Show last spring. Besides emphasising GM's commitment to the future of the Buick brand, it previewed a hybrid powertrain that GM will put into production models in the near future.
The Riviera shows a new interpretation of the Buick 'waterfall' grille and porthole air intakes, with LED backlighting, LED headlamps and interior lighting. It's a 2+2-seater with carbon-fibre panels and gullwing doors, finished with plush blue/cream Alcantara/leather upholstery and deep-pile carpets.
