Maserati is marking a successful year: it sold over 7,000 vehicles in 2007, and its Modena production plant set a production record of 850 last October. It sold 2,600 cars last year in the USA and is now returning an operating profit, mainly down to the success of the Quattroporte.
This new version of the Quattroporte is described as a "super-deluxe incarnation": just 100 examples of the Collezione Cento will be made, making it exclusive as well.
It comes in a new ivory paint colour with contrasting coachlines, 20-inch wheels with polished rims, honeycomb-effect chromed front and side grille, and an interior with ultra-soft diamond-pattern, buttoned leather upholstery, Wenge wood trim, mother-of-pearl inlays and leather-trimmed floor mats.
Equipment in the Collezione Cento includes a multimedia entertainment system with auxiliary input socket, iPod docking station, SIM card and USB ports, WP3/WMA-compatible stereo, keypad for e-mail access and internet browsing, and two 10.4-inch touch-screen displays. Much of this is housed in the rear-centre armrest.
