Ever since BMW unveiled the 1-Series concept it's been kept busy denying that there will ever be a sporty M1 version. And here it isn't: the Concept 1-Series tii.
BMW insists it's purely a styling concept - an idea of what a 1-Series Coupe would look like if it were to be stripped out a bit and carbon fibre used for the bonnet and other components. It's road car, but one designed using BMW's touring car racing know-how.
The colour scheme emphasises the racetrack connection, while the revised bodykit includes vents taking cooling air to the rear brakes. The concept has twin tail pipes similar to the 135i's but the grille and the 18" alloys are different.
Inside there are bucket seats, white-faced dials and lots of Alcantara. No word on the engine - after all, this is purely a styling concept.
