Could Nissan be preparing to return to saloons after years of favouring crossovers for the European market? The Intima has the flair that could make such a move work.
Taking the lead of the Foria concept from Tokyo two years ago, this 2007 show car is an elegant luxury saloon that echoes the approach Mercedes took to such great effect with the coupe-like four-door CLS.
Instead of conventionally opening doors, the Intima gains a pair of suicide doors to help aid access to the rear. Meanwhile, front passengers benefit from seats that swivel 80 degrees to aid entry.
The Intima appears close to production-ready, fuelling rumours that Nissan could be preparing a replacement for the Mondeo-rivalling Primera. It's fitted with Nissan's new Around View Monitor and a clean-running V6 diesel engine.
