Mitsubishi's Concept-Z-T: a proposal for a top-end family-sized saloon that could be a Galant replacement. It has the latest Lancer's reverse-raked nose, but is much bigger than that small saloon - and indeed bigger than the last Galant.
It has a new 2.2-litre 16-valve diesel engine and twin-clutch gearbox, plus safety aids including a lane departure warning system, a pedestrian-friendly pop-up bonnet and an interior using a high proportion of recycled plastics - all features likely to make it into production Mitsubishis of the near future.
The Z-T has Mitsubishi's four-wheel drive system with electronically controlled limited-slip differential and stability control, as used in the Outlander. Unusually for a mainstream, mass-production model, the long, low-slung Concept-ZT is built around an aluminium spaceframe.
