The Mazda Taiki is a concept that showcases not only the new RX-8's engine - the next-generation 1,600cc twin-rotor Wankel engine - but also, possibly, its styling.
The Taiki is Mazda's fourth concept in its Nagare series, following the Nagare, Ryuga and Hakaze show cars. Under that pretty surface it keeps the same front-engined, rear-wheel-drive layout as the RX-8 and is aerodynamically slicker than the current current RX-8.
The show car is a two-seater with a twin-clutch seven-speed gearbox. While the final production car may not look exactly like this, the Taiki certainly gives hints as to the direction it will take.
