Well that's over for another two years.
With my feet still soaking in a basin of hot water after the three-mile end-to-end trek around the Frankfurt show, I've had a chance to reflect on all the shiny new metal on display - and, in time-honoured tradition, I've chosen my top 10.
1. Jaguar XF
There were a few grumblings about this 'not looking like a real Jaguar', but I think the new saloon is going to be a big hit. It's certainly well appointed inside and I, for one, can't wait to drive it.
2. Honda Accord concept
This literally stopped me in my tracks. I was walking past the Honda stand when the concept version of the new Accord estate caught my eye. Very nice - just make sure you build it just like this, Honda.
3. Audi RS6
Everything I'd hoped it would be. I've been waiting for the RS6 since I first drove the RS4 and this superb 5.0-litre, V10 monster is unlikely to disappoint when we get behind the wheel early next year.
4. Lamborghini Reventon
Absolutely bobbins. A cool million euros for what is essentially a rebodied Murcielago LP640 with an extra 10bhp, you'd literally have to have more money than sense to buy one. I'm glad I don't have that much cash to find out if I'm that stupid.
5. Volkswagen Up!
I really hope that VW builds this future-focused city car - but please, please give it a new name and drop the exclamation mark. Rear-engined and capable of 100mpg, this is the Oyster Card of the future.
