Motor Show: Frankfurt 2007: Aston Martin V8 Vantage N400

12 Sep 07

Not content with taking the wraps off the DBS, Aston Martin has unveiled two racetrack-inspired special edition models at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The V8 Vantage N400 is a more powerful, sharper-handling version of the coupe and roadster, produced to celebrate the company's solid performance at last summer's Nurburgring 24 Hours. Power is increased from 380 to 400bhp, and the car comes with a new sports pack consisting of uprated springs and dampers, a new rear anti-roll bar and new lightweight wheels.

Inside, the N400 gets a new alloy facia finish and perforated black leather seats, along with various items from the options list, including cruise control, satellite navigation, an audio upgrade and a Bluetooth hands-free system. It's available in three colours - black, silver or orange - and is likely to cost around £92,000, or £10,000 more than the regular coupe.

The DB9 LM marks the Aston DBR9's GT1 class victory at June's Le Mans 24 Hours. Likely to cost around £124,000, it's a special edition of the DB9 coupe with Touchtronic automatic transmission and the sports pack, which involves lighter wheels and a load-bearing aluminium panel under the car for extra stiffness.

The LM has special silver paint, with red brake calipers, and smoked chrome meshes and rear crossbar. The black leather interior includes perforated seat inserts and a new facia trim.
