VW Caddy Maxi Life
Volkswagen is showing a bigger version of its practical van-based Caddy Life MPV, a model not sold in the UK. The Caddy Maxi Life comes with three rows of seats and two sliding side doors; the third row of seats can be removed and the second row folds down and forwards to give a maximum load capacity of 1,350 litres. There's a 350-litre boot even with all the rear seats in place.
Standard equipment includes anti-lock brakes, traction control and a driver's airbag. Engine options are a 102bhp 1.6-litre petrol and two diesels: a 103bhp 1.9 and a 138bhp 2.0 TDI, and buyers can opt for Volkswagen's DSG twin-clutch sequential-shift gearbox.
The Caddy Maxi Life is 470mm longer than the standard Caddy Life at 4,880mm, and its wheelbase has been extended by 320mm. That should mean passengers in the third row have much more room than those in the optional rearmost seats of the Caddy Life. The Caddy Maxi Life has not been confirmed for Britain, but the commercial version will definitely be sold here.
