Suzuki's striking Kizashi is a foretaste of its plans to expand its range beyond budget cars and 4x4s.
A coupe-style shooting brake, it's a preview of a forthcoming large family car to replace the current Verona, which is essentially a Daewoo Leganza and is not sold in the UK. The new car is being developed for sales in both Europe and North America.
Roughly the size of a Mondeo, the Kizashi is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine and has four-wheel drive, although the production version, due in 2010, could have a hybrid powertrain as well as a choice of conventional engines.
