Like other Lamborghinis it's named after a famous fighting bull, but the Reventon's design is inspired more by jet fighters than aggressive cattle. Based on the Murcielago LP640 and sharing the same powertrain, it's a limited-run, ultra-exclusive top-end model - just 20 will be made.
This haute couture Lamborghini comes from the Sant'Agata Bolognese style centre at the company's HQ, and has an entirely redesigned exterior. Though its proportions remain similar to the Murcielago's, its composite carbon fibre panels have been reshaped for even more focussed aerodynamics, sharper angles and enhanced cooling for the engine and brakes. The air intakes on the adjustable rear spoiler have been modified, as have the spoilers below each of the upward-opening doors.
The 6.5-litre V12 engine, which produces 640bhp and 487lb-ft, can be viewed through the glass laminate bonnet. The fuel tank lid is milled from a solid aluminium block, and LEDs are used for the daytime running lights, indicators, tail lights and brake lights. It's painted in a unique opaque carbon-effect metallic shade called grey barra, which contrasts with the black aluminium wheel rims with carbon turbine-style fins.
The aeronautical theme continues inside, where the Alcantara/leather/carbon/aluminium cockpit has liquid-crystal displays and a g-force meter. The e-gear automated-manual gearbox is standard-fit, as is four-wheel drive.
Zero to 62mph comes up in just 3.4 seconds and top speed is over 210mph. Not quite jet fighter speed, but not bad for an earth-bound vehicle.
