3D destruction derby. It's Autofrag: Sumo - with slightly nicer "cel-shaded" 3D graphics from the makers of Martian flight-sim Radical Aces.
But instead of shooting the other drivers (or trying to push them off a cliff), you just smash into them - and recharge your energy by pulling stunts in the air, Canadian Snowboarding-style.
There's a demented disclaimer at the beginning explaining how "the following game is really mad" and "it does not try to obey or emulate any rules of physics correctly", but in fact your car usually behaves much as you'd expect - the most maddening aspects are the slightly uninspired course design and open-ended gameplay...
Controls: Arrow keys for left, right, forward or reverse (or roll while in the air), Space to brake (or perform stunt), A to toggle guidance arrow (to point to other cars or the race course), V to toggle views, M to mute music, N to mute sound effects, Enter or P to Pause.
Tips: You only have to go through the indicated checkpoints (in order) to get credit for completed laps, so you can cut plenty of corners (or indeed most of the course). And pressing "Return" also works instead of mouse-clicking all the "Continue" menus.
