Dunhill Motorities

British luxury label Dunhill has always been the one to go to when kitting out the 'gentleman driver'. With a heritage stretching back to the beginning of the last century, the label now produces clothes that mix tradition with modernity.

Designer Nick Ashley has large hand in successfully achieving this balance: Ashley is a hardcore petrolhead and motorbike fanatic, so he really understands the market he's designing for. For this autumn/winter, he has worked with a colour palette derived from iconic racing cars - British racing green, Ferrari red, and Jaguar Westminster blue - to produce a cool collection of casual, practical clothes.

Among the collection are a biker jacket in chocolate brown or black lamb nappa; a shearling biker jacket in green, camel or brown; a 'dragster' jacket in red, stone and black, in either soft suede or tough cotton twill; a microfibre 'dust jacket' or 'car coat'; a full-length waterproof wool 'motor coat', featuring a high tab collar and a new fabrication process that ensures water runs off the coat diagonally along the twill; and Motorities shirts inspired by motocross.

But one indispensable item form the collection is the classic Dunhill driving glove. The range includes sport-influenced gloves, with zips on the wrist that open to reveal a contrast colour inside; and the classic Dunhill driving glove in very soft lamb nappa and suede lamb nappa, in a number of colour combinations.
