Nintendo DS Lite
If you don't know what these portable gaming platforms are, you're either dead or so out of touch you think the Beatles are the latest hip pop combo. The PSP and DS Lite have taken gaming to new levels - and are ideal for occupying teens for hours in the backs of cars.
Sony's PlayStation Portable has superb picture quality, the ability to wirelessly hook up with your mates/siblings for multi-player gaming and the ability to store video and music on memory cards. There's also a great range of driving games, from the latest Need For Speed Carbon to Ridge Racer 2 and Cars, the game of the movie.
The DS Lite doesn't have the profile or some of the big-name games of the PSP, but it's still an impressive package, with wireless gaming and a fascinating catalogue of unusual games in addition to driving games such as Micro Machines v4.
