Navman
Navman is making a really concerted effort at toppling TomTom at the top of the sat nav heap and it has a secret weapon to help it: pictures.
NavPix is Navman's system that tags photos taken with the camera on the N60i with GPS data. The photos can then be stored on the unit's 2Gb flash memory so that users can select the destination again in future by looking through a photo album. It's also possible to download pictures from the NavPix website - such as famous landmarks in major cities - and use them as your destination.
It's a very clever idea and a good system. However you need to get this top-of-the-range member of the Navman family - and shell out four hundred quid - to get the best out of the system. We tried to lower-spec N40, which requires you to load European maps on to SD cards (that you have to buy separately), and found that it crashed repeatedly. Best to spend the extra money and get the maps pre-installed.
