Speed's not everything
The motoring press is always chuntering on about the fastest supercars on the market and their endless merits (yawn), but what about the slowest cars out there - surely they deserve a mention?
We've scoured the UK car market to find the real tortoises out there. They're not flash and they certainly don't dash, but speed's not everything. Our selection process to find the slowest cars was simple - the official 0-62mph times - and we think we've found the motoring equivalents of the sloth.
Of course, our selection ignored automotive continental drifts such as the G-wiz because they don't even reach 62mph and besides, they're not real cars are they?
Anyway, here's our celebration of the slow.
Chevrolet Matiz 0.8 SE Auto

0-62mph: 21.9s;
Top speed: 84mph;

Average fuel consumption: 49.6mpg;
Boot capacity (min/max): 170/845 litres
You're in no danger of face deformation when you accelerate in the sharp-sounding Chevrolet Matiz: an Olympic sprinter will hit 200 metres in less time. It's the slowest of the lot here.
The Matiz Auto is unremarkable in every sense - it looks bland, its fuel consumption isn't wonderful for a 796cc engine, the boot's a little tight for the category and the residuals aren't much cop either. It's pricey for what you get, too.
