McLaren F1
McLaren F1 (1994)
Surely we've made a terrible mistake? How could we pick the fifteen year-old F1 over the mighty Bugatti Veyron, which offers 1,000hp and a top speed of 252mph?
Because the Veyron weighs two tonnes and the McLaren F1 doesn't.
The brainchild of an ex-Formula One designer, the McLaren F1 is equipped with a 6.0-litre V12, offers a top speed of 240mph and weighs in at just 1,100kg - a weight that even to this day makes it anorexic in the supercar fraternity.
All that weight-saving comes at a cost, however. Without power steering, traction control, ABS or even a brake servo to help you out, driving the thing will take some bravery. But the drive will stay with you for the rest of your life.
