Steve Claridge - 100mph
Former footballer and BBC Five Live pundit Steve Claridge also hit the 100mph mark. His reason? He said he needed the toilet.
Claridge has been caught speeding in his Peugeot 307 on the M42 near Solihull. PC Keith Dyson, who arrested him, said: 'As I started speaking to him he started jumping up and down on the hard shoulder, holding his crotch and acting like a child who is desperate to go to the toilet. He continued to jump up and down in what I deemed to be an embarrassing action.'

Nick Freeman - 85mph
Ok, 85mph on the motorway isn't a public hanging offence but this conviction is particularly significant since it involves the man known as Mr Loophole - a lawyer well-known for getting celebrities, charged with motoring offences, off scot-free. His fastest acquittal - 41 seconds into proceedings - was during a hearing involving cricketer Andrew Flintoff, who appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court charged with driving at 87mph in a 50mph zone.
However, there was no hiding place for Freeman when he was caught doing 85mph on the motorway in his Porsche 911 almost 20 years ago. The £10,000-a-day lawyer was driving his then fiancee Stephanie from Manchester to Gleneagles, Perthshire, when he was stopped by traffic officers. 'I was doing 85mph on the motorway,' he says, 'and I pleaded guilty.' He got three points on his licence, which is now clean.
