'We'll see the new Cube at the end of the year [2008] at an event in Tokyo, before it goes to the LA Motor Show at the end of November. It's going to be a global car, so it's our intention to bring it to Europe,' Thomas told us. 'We're currently talking to each of the European markets to find out who wants it: if there's enough interest we will bring it in. Some countries have already said that they have no interest in it, but even that could change.'
Nissan also realises that Europe isn't a continent of cubists and as such there has to be some lateral thinking.
'We're debating how to sell it and where to sell it. In the UK, for example, should we sell it right across the country, or just in the big cities where it might be more popular?' added Thomas. 'We know it's not going to sell in huge volumes, so we don't want to bring it in and find that we can't sell it, which would have a negative effect on the Nissan brand. We're only going to put it where we know it will be a success. We should know where and how we'll sell it by the end of the year.'
