The well-equipped one: Hyundai i10

The Hyundai i10 is phenomenal value. For just £500 more than the Kia Picanto you bag side airbags, tinted glass and a CD player with MP3 connection. If that's not enough, you get standard air conditioning too.
It returns an excellent 56.5mpg and emits just 119g/km of carbon dioxide slipping into VED band B and as from this October will be exempt from London's congestion charge.
Game, set and match? Not quite. We still prefer the looks and drive of the Citroen C1, but the i10 runs it close in terms of value.
