Fancy watching some motor racing without having to take out a bank loan? Need a few ideas for entertaining the kids in the school holidays? Do you love classic cars, military vehicles, vintage vans or other automotive eccentricities? Or just want to hang out with some fellow petrolheads? Check out our Cheap Days Out Calendar.
From banger racing to priceless exotics in concours d'elegance displays, from classic grand prix cars to American cruisers, there's something for everyone.
Some events are even free - how about walking down to the seafront to see the finishers in the London-Brighton Veteran Car Run? - there's plenty of days out you can do for a tenner, and while we have included a few more expensive ones, they're only the ones we really think are worth the outlay, such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
And you never know: you may even be inspired to take part yourself. Maybe this is the year you build a kit car or hillclimb special, buy a practical classic, take your hot-hatch to a drag strip or simply sample the bangers 'n' mash at the Ace Cafe.
We've done our best to make this calendar up to date, but please do check with the organisers before leaving home because they do have habit of changing dates from time to time. Click on the links to get full details such as Santa Pod (www.santapod.co.uk), banger-racing Arena Essex (www.arenaessex.com) or the Ace Cafe (www.ace-cafe-london.com), which hosts everything from car club meets to biker bashes and rockabilly gigs.
For full details of all sprints, autotests and suchlike check out www.msauk.org to find details of every car club.
And for 'Run What Ya Brung' drag-strip time trials - where you can literally turn up in any (road-legal, insured) car and accelerate away - best check out www.rwyb.co.uk. But read on: there's a whole motoring world out there.
