10. Seat Ibiza (2002-)
This supermini actually shares the same basic underpinnings, engines and general design as the Volkswagen Polo.
The Spanish-built Ibiza appeals more to younger drivers, with its sporty Alfa-like styling, aggressive front end and macho image (bolstered by the top-end Cupra-badged variants). It's usually seen in either bright red or lairy yellow paint.

Although the basic engineering is the same as the VW, some fine-tuning leads to a very different feel, with the Ibiza firmer-riding, noisier and a bit sharper to drive.
The upcoming new Ibiza (coming 2008) means that prices are now coming down. It's still not super-cheap, but it offers better value for money than the expensive Polo.
