Indian manufacturer Tata is currently in the news thanks to the possibility of its forming an alliance with MG Rover to supply a version of its Indica hatchback for the UK market. But that's not the only story from Tata: the company has also unveiled an MPV concept.
The Indiva is based on the same basic platform as the Indica, yet is a full seven-seater - one of the shortest around, at 4.3 metres. Like the Indica, it has been styled by Italian design house IDEA, specifically with European buyers in mind. However, should it go into production, it will be made in India, and will have one of Tata's own engines under the bonnet. The concept shown had a full set of in-car entertainment, telecomms and sat nav equipment, though given that it would be marketed as a budget model in Europe, these items are unlikely to make it into a production version.
