Morgan 4/4 £7000 - £20,000
Pre-war-style charm - and discomfort. Very quick, virtually depreciation proof, but no coupes and bodywork expense to fix. Beware of wood rot.
MG C/ V8 GT £3,000 - £9,000
Easy to own trad Brit coupe. Every part available, but possibly a bit too obvious. Not that quick, although V8 sounds great. Lots of tatty ones around.
Lotus Esprit £2000 - £20,000
Plastic specialist sports car, but cramped coupe option only. Fast, but complicated. Formula 1 credibility, but an old Lotus can soon become a liability.
