Advice: Used cars - best buys

Last year, the A8 6.0 cost £74,000. Today, it can be brought for £55,000. We know there's probably another hill of deprecation left in there, but as way of illustrating the benefits of buying nearly new, it's compelling. That's £1,500 lost each month for the 'new' buyer!

But what a car for £19k off new list; 450bhp, 0-60mph in 5.1 seconds, pretty much every feature you could wish for as standard and the most amazing build and finish to complement perfect design (plus two years left on the warranty). Yet, even at this price, you must be prepared for a hit. Retained values nudging 35% after three years means this £74k car could sink as low as £25,000 in the trade. Kia Sorento money for the ultimate expression of Vorsprung Durch Technik is pretty compelling.
