Audi never launched a whole heap of special editions, probably because they never needed to in the UK, one of the TT's best markets.
In America there were quite a few, but over here from June 2001 it was possible to get a 225 with S-Line trimmings. This meant 18" 9-spoke alloy wheels, lowered Sports suspension, six-CD autochanger and a Bose sound system. It was available in a number of metallic colours, Misano Red or Avus Silver with Black, Brilliant Red or Silver Grey interior.
And then there was the Audi TT coupe Quattro Sport (see The hot version), which was limited to just 1,000 right-hand-drive examples.
