Like Excalibur, Stutz (another revival of an old American name last seen in the '30s) made vulgar cars for successful porn baron types. Rather than featuring a completely new body, these cars were based around the Pontiac Grand Prix, the bodies refashioned in Italy by Carrozzeria Padama to Exner's design. The first versions had a huge 7-litre engine with as much as 430 bhp in pre-emission regulations form, but as with all big American engines, power had to be dropped to pitiful levels in the '70s. As well as the Blackhawk coupe, you could have had a Stutz Bearcat convertible, a Victoria sedan and a huge Royale state limo. The Blackhawk, however, possibly eclipses even the Panther De Ville as the ultimate in bad taste.
